I think my stomach still hurts from laughing so much at this in home Chicago engagement session! Taylor and Julia met on their dorm floor in college. Julia fixed Taylor’s puka shell necklace, and the rest was history. I met these two at the West Loop Wedding Walk and just immediately hit it off with both of them. Their light hearted, passionate, and have the biggest personalities. Taylor is sarcastic and outgoing and consistently keeping a smile on Julia’s face. Julia is an absolute sweetheart, with a contagious laugh.
The couple loves to stay home and cook brunch on the weekends – well, as Taylor stated, he cooks and Julia “assists” – so when I suggested an in-home session with brunch and mimosas, they jumped on the idea.
They spent the morning throwing blackberries into each other’s mouths and sipping champagne at home in their Lakeview neighborhood. Taylor showed off his top chef skills, and Julia her champaign drinking skills. Just like any other Saturday at home, the two joked, kissed, and got ready to feast!
Julia told me she loves how Taylor can make anything fun and can always make her laugh (even when she doesn’t want to). Taylor loves Julia’s infectious personality and unyielding perseverance. He said she she’s made every moment since they met worth remembering.
We popped outside quickly and braved the cold for some photos around their neighborhood – a favorite place for walks near Lake Michigan. In fact, Taylor just so happened to propose on one of those walks!
Getting to spend time with these two for their in home Chicago engagement session made me that much more excited for their wedding at The Greenhouse Loft next January! It is sure to be filled with so much love, and of course, plenty of laughter!
