There is nothing like a sunrise over Lake Michigan in Chicago, especially at North Avenue Beach. So when Ryan reached out looking for a photographer to capture a proposal there, my heart skipped a beat and I said ME ME ME ME ME 🙋🏼♀️!
Right from the first email, I could sense Ryan’s kind personality and how much he just adores Molly. We had fun going back and forth nailing down the specifics for the proposal including a nice little arm stretch to signal when the big question was coming. Luckily, there was no hiding in bushes this go around, just having one eye peeled to my camera “taking photos of the city”and the other fixed on Ryan and Molly, sitting on the walkway.
Ryan looked Molly in the eyes and it was like time stopped, he got down on one knee with the sun rising in the background, illuminating the two of them, and while I have no idea what he said, I did hear “YES….yes, yes, yes, yes, yes!”. And just like that, Ryan + Molly were engaged.
I LOVE proposals because the moments after are just filled with such pure human emotion and joy. I feel so damn lucky that Ryan entrusted me for such a big moment in their lives and honored that I got to capture the warmth between these two wonderfully sweet human beings!
