Minimalist Celeste Chicago Wedding | Lindsey & Matt

Filed in: Wedding

These two have literally traveled the world in their four years together. After meeting while working for United Airlines, they’ve continued their travels hand-in-hand—even adding two dogs and a cat to the mix. Now, most of their adventures are on foot, navigating endless hiking trails and seeking summits wherever they go. Although they hail from two competitive sports-loving cities—St. Louis and Chicago—they’ve managed to make their divided sports household work. (But watch out when the Cardinals play the Cubs.) This past fall, they opted for a minimalist wedding with their closest friends and family at Celeste Chicago.

Picture Perfect Fall Wedding in Chi-Town

For their wedding day, we had the trifecta: fall foliage, mild temps, and the Wrigley Building all to ourselves for twenty-five minutes (other photogs, yes, I know, UNHEARD of)! Even with a bit of last-minute vow writing while getting ready, everything fell into place just beautifully.

At one point during their wedding, Lindsey, looking out at all their guests eating, drinking, laughing, and loving, said, “This is just the best. It’s just so perfect.” I responded, “that’s how your wedding day should be.” Every little part of their wedding day was 100% Lindsey and Matt, just as it should be.

The only sad part of this story is that Lindsey and Matt are the last of the Lincolns to get hitched! This was my second Lincoln family wedding—I photographed Matt’s sister’s Vail wedding in 2018. I love this sweet family, and capturing their gorgeous wedding days filled with memories has been an honor.

Best Venue for a Minimalist Wedding in Chicago

Looking for a Chicago wedding venue with a built-in design? Check out Celeste, Chicago’s exotic craft cocktail bar. Lindsay and Matt went minimalist for their wedding day, and Celeste & Disco fit the bill beautifully.

About the Venue | Celeste Chicago & DISCO

Located in downtown Chi-Town, Celeste found its home in a historic multi-story building. Although renovated as a high-end bar and event space, the venue still exudes historic charm. Exposed brick walls and glass ceilings authentically feel ‘Chicago,’ while the overflowing greenery, modern metal beams, and luxurious lounge areas take things up a notch. It feels both swanky and relaxed for a “cocktail-hour” themed wedding day. (After all, why limit cocktail hour when that’s everyone’s favorite part—after the ‘I do’s,’ of course!?) In fact, guests sipped champagne during the ceremony—so fun!

This gem of a venue in trendy River North also has three floors with distinct styles. You can book a single event space or the entire venue (4 floors), hosting up to 380 guests for a cocktail reception.

Celeste Chicago Event Spaces

Pub – 1st Floor

Celeste is known for this funky retro-luxe pub with great music and party vibes. It keeps with the local bar scene with elevated bar food. True to its name, the pub is the most casual of the three, and they welcome local DJs to keep the party going. The pub can host 50 seated guests or 125 guests for a cocktail reception.

Deco – 2nd Floor

The Deco Room is the most elegant and luxurious space for a more traditional look. Lindsey and Matt had their cocktail hour here and then moved up to the Roof Garden for dinner and celebratory toasts. I loved their glistening champagne tower! The Deco Room can host 40 seated guests or 75 for a cocktail reception.

DISCO –3rd Floor

Celeste Chicago also has a premier downtown club called DISCO on the 3rd floor near the Roof Garden. Lindsay and Matt took a few editorial-style photos here as well. The retro wallpaper, LED floors and walls, mirrors, and disco balls make this a popular space to dance, hang, and take photos. DISCO can host 75-90 guests for a cocktail reception

Roof Garden – 4th Floor

The roof garden features an exotic jungle vibe with tons of greenery and a retractable glass ceiling (perfect if you love the idea of an outdoor event but don’t want to mess with bad weather). The 70s-inspired leaf-print Victorian chairs add a fun vintage touch. This intimate garden space can host 60 guests for a seated dinneror 75-90 guests for a cocktail reception.

Lindsey and Matt simply added the peach-perfect table settings and some greenery and candles for the centerpieces, and this minimalist design was complete! With the built-in ambiance and décor, their day was simple yet lacked nothing.

Keep Things Simple with a Minimalist Wedding at Celeste

This minimalist wedding day still had it all—heartfelt vows, delicious food, and caramel-covered cake. But best of all, this was the day Lindsey and Matt set out on their greatest adventure yet: marriage.
