A perfect Chicago night. That’s how I would describe this Chicago engagement session with Sania and Addhyan. In the midst of a heavy heat wave, I showed up to the Chicago Yacht Club and was greeted with a gorgeous 74 degree night, a beautiful breeze, and Sania, Addhyan, and Mowgli dressed to the nines in the most complimentary shades of blues (seriously, take note of their awesome outfits!).
Sania and Addhyan, originally from India, met in grad school and moved to Chicago several years ago after doing some long distance dating while Sania studied for her PhD at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. This year has been an especially big one for them as they got engaged and purchased their first home together! They chose the Chicago Yacht Club as the backdrop for their session, and it was just gorgeous. They used to live in a high rise nearby and spent countless days walking their PAWS Chicago rescue pup, Mowgli, along the lakefront. Addhyan proposed at the Signal of Peace Monument so we decided to walk the lakefront and finish our session up there.
Mowgli is one of the friendliest and happiest little guys I’ve ever been lucky enough to shoot. Sania and Addhyan are just the kindest (and seriously the smartest) souls. I loved getting to converse with them to learn more about their lives, their culture, and also their love story. This is one of my favorite parts of engagement sessions. The time in between, when my cameras are down, and I get to really get to know my couples.
I am SO thrilled with how this Chicago engagement turned out – a beautiful reflection of Sania, Addhyan and Mowgli and their latest adventure in Chicago.
