Salvage One – Chicago Wedding | Chelsea + Drew

I still remember when Chelsea reached out and told me they were having their wedding at an antique shop in Chicago- Salvage One. I couldn’t wait to hear more and we planned a get together. We sat on their gorgeous Chicago balcony in the heart of the West Loop and, over a delicious charcuterie board, I got to know these two sweet souls and all of their dreamy classic, yet whimsical garden filled wedding plans.

Chelsea and Drew fit together just perfectly. Chelsea is fast paced, strong willed, and pours her passion into all that she takes on. Drew is kind hearted, relaxed, and so unbelievably caring – especially about Chelsea.

We started the day at one of my favorite getting ready spots in the city, Gold Plaited. The girls were all extremely excited but I could tell Chelsea couldn’t settle. She told me at one point, I just need to see Drew. So, planner extraordinaire, Olivia of Olive Fine Weddings, got that bride into the trolley and to Lincoln Park for the first look.

Amongst a field of wildflowers tucked away from the city at the Lincoln Park Nature Boardwalk, Chelsea and Drew stood back to back to read letters to each other before their first look. Seconds into his letter, Drew whipped around and said, “I just can’t want to see you”. Chelsea’s frame instantly relax as she fell into the arms of her soon to be hubby. Those nerves were long gone from that moment on.

They held a stunning and intimate wedding ceremony in the garden of Salvage One that ended with an “I, do”, a huge kiss, and Chelsea jumping into the arms of her new husband. The remained of the night was filled with delicious Chicago staples (hot dogs, pizza, mac ‘n cheese) from the Hearty Boys, and non stop dancing with the Ring of Music keeping the dance floor jam packed.

An antique is usually an item that is collected or desirable because of its age, beauty, rarity, condition, utility, personal emotional connection, and/or other unique features.⠀

How fitting that we got to celebrate the beauty, rarity, personal emotional connection and uniqueness of Chelsea and Drews marriage amongst thousands of other treasured antique items that have withheld the test of time. ⠀
