Armour House – Lake Forest, IL – Styled Shoot

Fresh greens, clean whites, and black tie formal are what remind me of a classic wedding. Now throw that together with Lake Forest‘s prestigious  Armour House Mansion and you’ve got yourself quite the setting to say “I do!”. I was so excited for this styled shoot just North of Chicago on a campus hidden away in the woods. It was romantic, moody, and absolutely beautiful.

The Details

Part of the reason I adored this shoot so much was because it reminded me of my own wedding theme – modern but chic and earthy. Tables draped with greenery, gorgeous contemporary calligraphy, and fresh pops of white everywhere. I absolutely loved the vintage glassware and simple stationary.

The Romance

There’s just something about a guy in a tux twirling his girl that makes my heart melt a bit on the inside.  Eric looked beyond dashing and Logan was a dream with a braided updo and lace detailed gown. This Chicago wedding theme was one that will surely never go out of style, it was timeless.

The Venue

The venue, established in 1857, offerred soft hues, a grand staircase and marble tiles making a perfect backdrop for the day.  Just outside of Chicago, it’s one of my favorite venues for a Chicago wedding (fun fact, one of my good friends got married here and it was gorgeous!).  While Spring hadn’t sprung quite yet, the huge garden on site still added a pinch of charm to the occasion.
