I just have to showcase this gorgeous fall wedding at The Arbory before the season ends and we head into the winter holidays. These two were so easy to celebrate. Kelsey and Michael are easygoing, fun-loving, and very much in love. I had so much fun getting ready with them on their special day and then bopping around the West Loop, their favorite neighborhood filled with memories. Meanwhile, they savored every moment and created some stunning, laughter-filled wedding portraits.
Starting the Day at The Emily Hotel, Chicago
The lovebirds got ready at The Emily Hotel with a slow, stress-free morning surrounded by family. After getting glammed up by the fabulous Beauty by Ann Krause, Kelsey slipped into a STUNNING Jenny Yoo NYC gown made for her. Kelsey and Michael fully embraced the fall season with all its rich, warm colors. They both have a knack for style, and I love that he played up the look with a handsome burgundy suit and fall floral tie. These two looked like a dream together! After some final shoe-shining touches from his soon-to-be brother-in-law, Michael completed his fall-inspired look with dance-floor-ready shoes.
Couple’s Portraits Around West Loop
After getting all dolled up, it was time for their first look and couple’s portraits. The overcast day worked in our favor because the city’s twinkling lights shone even brighter, offering a romantic, cinematic feel. I especially love their portraits at Selva, one of the cocktail lounges at The Emily Hotel. The patio loft kept us out of the drizzle while capturing the cityscape. The hotel also features a glass terrace with gorgeous palms, hanging botanicals, and romantic string lights, which fit right in with their theme at The Arbory. Their photos were beautiful, and I loved that Kelsey and Michael had that time to slow down and be together before the rest of their day unfolded.
Saying “We Do!” at The Arbory
Based on our time together, I just knew we were in for a heart-tugging ceremony at The Arbory, Chicago. The way Kelsey and Michael look at each other is better than any romantic movie. These two are the real deal, and it shows in every glance, smile, and reassuring touch. A floral arch curated by Romee Willow Florals painted an absolutely breathtaking backdrop for their ceremony. Then, after sharing vows and rings and topping it off with a sweet kiss, the newlyweds literally skipped down the aisle in happiness.
Their intimate reception featured possibly the most beautiful place settings I’ve ever seen from Big Delicious Planet. The Italy-inspired theme served as a toast to where they met. Can it get any more romantic than that?! The night was warm, joyful, and filled with laughter. Toast & Jam DJs kept everybody on their toes and out on the dancefloor all evening long.
Of course, none of the above would have been as flawless without the incredible Olivia from Olive Fine Weddings, who executed every detail, big and small.
