You know when you meet someone, and the connection is just there? Conversation comes so easily, and you just click? That’s how it was with this incredible couple. I met Beth and Jeff at the West Loop Wedding Walk and immediately hit it off with them—so much so that they booked their wedding photography with me! Beth and Jeff are so fun and easygoing, and I loved getting them behind my camera for a quick five-minute portrait session during the event! After chatting and planning, I couldn’t wait to document their wedding this summer. Their intimate Lacuna Lofts wedding was everything I imagined, and more—every detail was simply beautiful, and every moment so heartfelt.

Dare to Be Different on Your Wedding Day

One of my favorite things about this day was the time and thought the couple put into their portrait portion of the day. Photos were at the top of their priority list, so we built in over two hours to wander around the city, capturing just the two of them! We explored the River Walk, stopped at The Wrigley Building, walked through Olive Park, and ended at Lacuna Lofts, which offers endless opportunities for cool photos! Not only did we create some gorgeous portraits together, but it also gave them time to breathe and enjoy each other’s company on their wedding day before celebrating with friends and family.

Inside, the loft offers a great blank canvas you can dress up (or down) as you wish. Beth and Jeff kept things simple with their fabulous florals doing most of the design legwork. Pastel gladiolus stems placed in bunches of roses and greenery painted a beautiful backdrop for the ceremony area and the newlywed reception table. Tea lights twinkled between eucalyptus leaves and strands of greenery. I LOVED their champagne ivy wall that served as both a photo backdrop and glass holder. Guests could find their toasting glass with a table number attached.

The wooden beams and floors accented with a beautiful steampunk chandelier add character and warmth to the space. For intimate and large weddings alike, it’s an excellent space for a night of dinner and dancing, with the option to step outside to chat or sip your drink while gazing out at the city lights. Absolutely dreamy!
