A: I typically spend between 30 minutes - 2 hours with my families depending on your portrait package. I guarantee a minimum of 40 professionally retouched high resolution images delivered in a mix of color and black and white (about 10%). All image are delivered via an online private gallery for downloading, sharing, and printing. Professional prints can be ordered straight from your gallery and I also offer custom albums.
A: I offer these sessions on weekdays.
For outdoor sessions, I recommend scheduling during golden hour for outdoor sessions - the hour right after the sun rises, or the hour just before the sun sets (don't worry I'll advise on the exact timing for your session!).
For in-home or indoor sessions any time when the sun is out and bright will work, I typically like to get started between 10:00AM and 12:00PM.
A: The million dollar question. I get this for almost every single session, so I went ahead and created an entire blog post dedicated to the topic! What to Wear to Your Session
A: For newborn sessions, I always advise at home where you can be comfortable and close to any supplies you might need.
For other portrait sessions, I suggest choosing a location you/your partner/your family like to frequent. Maybe a local park or forest preserve, the beach, or your go to ice cream shop. If you aren't sure, I'm happy to recommend some of my favorite spots.
A: Only if you want to! Sonograms and baby shoes are darling for maternity photos. A blanket is always a good idea for family portraits. If you're debating whether or not to bring your dog, the answer is always YES. I have some great tips for including them in your session here!
A: Asking kids to sit still and smile isn't the most fun thing in the world, which is why I won't be doing that during our time together! Rather, I like to play games, explore, make silly jokes and turn what looks like a portrait session into an adventure! Natural fun turns into natural smiles that aren't forced, they are just the result of playing together. I don't expect you to be models, or know a bunch of different poses - that's my job! I will direct you in a way that helps you feel relaxed and natural, and will create a fun space where you can be your true comfortable selves in front of my lens. If you are nervous, it’s totally ok – I promise the end results of our time together will be something you love.
A: You will have access to your full gallery within 2 weeks after our time together. All photos will be delivered in a password protected online gallery for viewing, sharing with friends and family, and purchasing prints from, should you choose to. Your gallery will remain live for 3 months.
A: I sure do! highly recommend ordering prints through my professional vendor -which you can do straight from your online gallery, but it is not required by any means. I also provide custom albums starting at $1,000. The difference in quality is huge when it comes to ordering through a professional lab, so I
encourage clients to let me help with prints and albums!
A: Head to my contact form here and let me know what type of session you're looking for. A 100% retainer and signed contract are required in order to get your session date officially reserved in my calendar.
