Chicago Lakefront sunrise engagement sessions are always a good idea….until that 4:30am alarm goes off.⁠⠀

KIDDING. I can’t decide if I like sunset or sunrise sessions more. I’m a morning person (after I’ve had a large cup of coffee) so I don’t mind the early morning wake up call, and really love the calm and quiet before the sun comes up and the city comes alive. ⁠⠀

This Chicago Lakefront sunrise engagement session with Alex and Dan reminded me just how much I cherish these sessions-and my incredible couples, of course. The sun gives off the most cheerful glow and rich colors. There’s an energy in the air that you only get in the early morning. ⁠⠀

Alex, Dan, and their sweet great dane Mackey greeted me on the Lakefront path with giant smiles that stayed all session long. We soaked up the rays and morning warmth. I third wheeled along as they snagged some slobbery kisses from Mackey and spoiled her with . Have I mentioned how much I love it when my couples bring their pups to their sessions (insert sarcastic smile here)?

I got to hear more about their love story and their big day coming up next June at @loftlucia.⁠⠀We casually strolled along Lake Michigan and paused every so often to capture another shot. Don’t worry Lori, we “kept it moving” ! 😉

I can’t wait to celebrate these two next Summer and finally get to work with the charming @aftonevents!
