Burr Ridge Backyard Wedding | Caroline & James

When I think of the perfect soiree, this Burr Ridge Backyard Wedding takes the cake (pun totally intended). Like many other couples in 2020, Caroline and James had to change their original wedding plans. Their new wedding looked a bit different – a small ceremony followed by an intimate candle lit dinner and cocktails amongst their closest friends and family.

I know that intimate weddings are “all the rage” these days. They have to be with all of the new restrictions and guidelines to keep everyone safe and healthy during these crazy times. But, in my heart, I’ve always loved these weddings the most. Less people allows for a more personal experience and celebration. I’ve also found it takes a lot of the stress of a bigger wedding off of the couple and families. I’m not saying big weddings aren’t fun and perfect and wonderful, I just love me a good 20 person shin dig 😉

Caroline & James’ was no exception to that love. They had the perfect blue skied Summer evening that quickly turned into a stunning sunset. The event was held at James’ family home in Burr Ridge – a special place to him and Caroline – having spent the past 9 years making so many memories there.

Caroline was absolutely stunning in a delicate white dress and statement earrings. My favorite part of the day, was watching her glide around the celebration barefoot – my kind bride.

There were mouth watering charcuterie and vegetable boards, light and airy summer cocktails, and warm conversation amongst their guests. As the sun was setting, everyone sat down for dinner at a long shared table lit by candlelight.

I only covered a portion of their Burr Ridge backyard wedding – they wanted all of the detail photos, family photos, and just a few bridal portraits. I love being able to customize my packages to cater to my couples. What’s important to you, is important to me!

I walked away as the sun was finishing setting and heard the sound of glasses clinking and laughter from their table. What a wonderful way to celebrate a marriage and the start of something beautiful together.

Congratulations Caroline & James!
