I haven’t had a Chicago Riverwalk Engagement Session in quite some time, and boy oh boy did it feel good to be back there! I forgot how stunning the colors can be, the light bouncing off of the buildings bringing them to life, the mix of cold hard steel and the soft light that fills the air. It’s one of my absolute favorite spots and just so “Chicago” to me.
When I met Laura + Jeff, they told me they were nervous which is normal I would say about 95% of my couples feel this way when we first meet. It’s not the most normal thing to have a camera in front of your face, but I always like to say, give me 5 minutes and you’ll forget we’re even taking pictures. Photos shouldn’t feel tedious, friends! They should be fun and adventurous and filled to the brim with deep, belly laughs, not awkward ones.
⠀
About 10 minutes into their Chicago Riverwalk engagement session, Laura was BEAMING with one of the most beautiful smiles I’ve ever seen, and Jeff was crushing the Patrick Swayze lift like he could do it in his sleep. ⠀I joked to him asking if we could film it for my future couples. He lifted Laura like she was an Amazon box, one of the small ones.
⠀
Like so many of my sessions, I left this one thinking, how the heck do these incredible, wonderful, funny, down to earth people keep finding me and letting me into their little slice of love? My heart continues to be filled with your love stories and my lens with your magic. ✨⠀
I cannotttttt wait to do this again next year for their wedding at Gallery 1028
[…] Laura & Jeff are one of the kindest, warmest, most smile invoking couples I have ever had the pleasure of working with. They exude happiness and are so clearly loved and cherished by everyone who has the pleasure of meeting them. Myself included. […]
