When I read Gabby + Jimmy’s inquiry form, all I could think is, holy smokes these guys seem like the all American couple. Both are High School teachers. Jimmy, a football coach, and Gabby a cheerleading coach. They met at the University of Indiana at a party, crossing paths several times in their School of Education classes. Gabby, being the bold and fearless beauty she is, marched right over to Jimmy and said “HEY! You’re in my class”. The rest was history.
When I arrived to Theater on the Lake for their engagement session, I spotted a beautiful couple dressed to the nines. When I got a little closer, I realized it was Gabby and Jimmy looking their very best. Theater on the Lake is one of my very favorite areas to do engagement sessions. Within about 1/2 mile radius you have fields of wildflowers, lakefront views, and the beautiful city of Chicago showing off its skyline. It was a wonderful backdrop to capture this fun couple’s love story.
Gabby is outgoing, big hearted, and so unbelievable cheerful. Jimmy is a tad more conservative, considerate, and very laid back. The two compliment each other in every way and it was such a joy to finally get to meet them in person and get them behind my lens.
After running through wildflowers and strutting along the lakefront, I asked Gabby and Jimmy if they were up for some playing in Lake Michigan. They were all for it. They splished, they splashed, they let loose like little kids and we ended the session popping some champagne amongst the waves with our toes sinking into the sand. It was just perfect (and honestly, very refreshing and a hot Chicago Summer day).
I am so unbelievably excited to see these two say I do next year at River Roast!
