I Think You Should Just Go For It

Just imagine, you’re stripped down to your skivvies, jumping on a bed, rocking out to Shania, or Brittney, or hell Drake if that lights ya up.  Your nerves are nowhere to be found. Your hair is flipping, your smile is radiating, and all you can think in that moment is “why the hell didn’t I do this sooner?”

If I had a dollar for every time I heard the phrase “I’m going to book you once I drop those last 10 lbs“….. I FEEL YOU. I’ve been trying to lose those past 10 lbs for a good 10 years now and I’m finally starting to get comfortable with the fact that #thisis30 and those 10 lbs just might be a part of me now. I think we should all be a little bit kinder, and a LOT more loving to ourselves. These bodies of ours have stories to tell – filled with scars and dimples, cellulite and rolls that jiggle a bit when we laugh. And I think that’s a pretty damn beautiful thing, right now, with those 10 lbs hugging onto you (and me, girl) like a nice little hug.

5 Reasons To Do a Boudoir Session

Not that you need them (you do you!) but here are 5 reasons why you should do a boudoir session!

1.TREAT-YO-SELF

Between picking a caterer, worrying about RSVP’s, nodding and smiling as everyone around you puts their two cents into your wedding, and everything else that goes into planning, you need some YOU time.  A boudoir session is a chance to pamper, celebrate, and find that fierce woman living inside of you. Just imagine looking back in 10, 20, 30….years from now and remembering this stage in your life and how strong, sexy, and beautiful you were.  Also  – if you get this reference, we’re probably, definitely, meant to meet.

2. 👏🏻E M P O W E R M E N T 👏🏻

You are e n o u g h. Right now. Right this second. You are everything you need and have ever needed to be in your own skin.  I think we forget this far too often. My last boudoir client came in a tad timid, looking for photos for herself and as an added bonus to give to her hubby. She texted me after I delivered her photos and said “OMG. I just feel so happy, like WOW! I am sexy, and I am strong and it’s so cool to feel confident like that.” Those words are the goal of my sessions – to evoke confidence and empowerment.

3. When was the last time you had an excuse to buy all the lingerie?

Raise your hand if you have a pair of underwear with snagged elastic, a hole in the lace, or a pair of not so whites because you ran them with your darks one too many times? If your hand is not raised for any of these – kudos to you (and also, please teach me how to do my laundry). More likely, you look like this 🤷🏼‍♀️. Underwear is not on the top of my list when shopping, but have you ever set some time out to pick out a few “pretty lil thangs“?  It’s exhilarating! It’s so fun to pick out sexy pieces and flaunt them off under your clothes, for yourself!

4. Get comfortable in front of the camera!

Boudoir sessions take a lot of two things: confidence and trust. These sessions are for leaving your self-doubt at the door, and placing trust in your photographer to rock the right angles, lighting, and posing. If you can master those two things in a boudoir session, come wedding time, you’ll be an absolute pro in front of the camera.  You will also be fully clothed in a dress and I guarantee a little bit sassier with all of that confidence overflowing from your boudoir session.

5. Hello Wedding Gift! 

Let me start by saying, I always tell my gals that these sessions are for them.  That is and will always be the number one reason I recommend them to brides, babes, and everyone in between. However, I sure do love a good little black book giving on the wedding day.  I offer album design and printing as part of my boudoir services and have found that it’s an absolute favorite for a wedding gift for your man or lady!  Your partner sees you at your absolute best, and also your absolute worst and they think you are gorgeous no matter what. Imagine the look on their face when they open up a book of you, rocking the skin you’re in ✨
