This Chicago summer engagement session was just the best! I finally got to meet Laura & Kyle and get them behind my lens before their intimate backyard wedding in Glen Ellyn in September!
These two are so down to earth, kind, and easy going. We had a hot but beautiful night and the city as our backdrop. I absolutely love shooting around Theater On The Lake– you get the magic of the lakefront, but can sneak away into fields of flowers just minutes away. The best of both worlds if you ask me.
Laura’s flowing green dress and heartwarming smile were gorgeous, and Kyle’s fun loving personality kept her laughing the entire night. One of my favorite parts of the night was when they busted out their favorite board game – Jaipur. I always tell my couples to try and incorporate things special to their relationship into their engagement or lifestyle photos. Maybe it’s their dog, a bottle of champagne, or in this case, a favorite activity that they like to do together! The colorful game brought out genuine smiles and laughter as the wind took a few pieces right into Lake Michigan. At least now I know what to get them for a wedding present 😂
We ended the night comparing our favorite true crime documentaries – which only sealed the deal that these two are a perfect MAC couple (if you haven’t already, go watch The Jinx on HBO, and yes I’m a Murderino).
Already counting down the days until I get to see them say I do in front of 35 of their closest friends and family in September! ❤️
