The Wendt family has had a busy, beautiful past three years. First came Sarah and Joe’s intimate wedding. Then came baby Elle’s newborn session, a new home, a backyard wedding reception, and now… another little friend has officially joined in on the fun.

Getting to photograph this family again felt like catching up with old friends, because in so many ways, it was. I have had the joy of watching Sarah and Joe step into one exciting chapter after another, and every time, they do it with warmth, ease, and love. They are two of the kindest humans, and their ridiculously adorable minis were clearly born ready for the camera.
Elle has always been one of the most photogenic babies-turned-toddlers I have ever seen. Just look at those sweet eyes! And now Graham has arrived, showing that he got the same memo. These two make some dang cute babies.
A Full-Circle Newborn Session in the Western Chicago Suburbs
A few weeks before Graham made his debut, I got to see Sarah at my Chicago studio Mommy and Me mini sessions. We captured those last few weeks of Graham tucked in her belly, with Elle dancing around at her feet as her only little one for the time being.
It was soft and simple and so special — one of those sessions that holds a little extra weight because you know life is about to change again, in the best way.
Before long, I found myself walking into their home for Graham’s in-home newborn session, and the whole thing felt like a beautiful full-circle moment. The baby we were waiting on was here. Elle had a new role. Sarah and Joe had a baby boy. Their home felt full in a new way.

With Graham’s session, I loved how much sweetness lived in those in-between moments. His debut was not loud or overly styled. It was calm, joyful, light-filled, and full of the people who already love him like crazy.

Elle is already stepping into big sisterhood beautifully, Graham is already stealing hearts, and Sarah and Joe are making this whole two-kid thing look incredibly sweet.
