Last week I chatted all about my experience at Bloom the Workshop in Nashville, Tennessee that I attended in May. It was truly a life changing experience and really gave me the encouragement to take my dream of pursuing wedding photography full time and make it a reality. I had so many ah-ha moments while at the workshop and learned so much about myself and my business.
One of my favorite parts of the workshop was our styled shoot. We had some incredible vendors (check out the list below!) that made every detail absolutely stunning. The talented ladies pulling everything together, Michaela and Ashley snagged inspiration from the gorgeous Riverwood Mansion venue, season, and the southern region we were in. They decided on a lilac and blush color palette fully embracing the shades of Spring.
We had two sets of couples that made my job easy – pairs in love are so much damn fun to capture! We all hustled through the Nashville heat and twirled and frolicked through the gorgeous gardens and courtyard surrounding the Riverwood Mansion!
As a photographer, I loved seeing other creatives give the styled shoot a go! Julie from painted_jules, a calligrapher, was right next to me rocking alongside the shoot as was my girl Leslie – a jack of all trades, she can now add photography to the list. That’s one thing I loved about this workshop – seeing so many different varieties of creatives learning a well-rounded set of skills to keep us all on top of our businesses!
There sure was plenty of southern charm, and wedding day feels to go around. I ended the styled shoot, glistening (girls don’t sweat in the South, they glisten ✨) and smiling from ear to ear. No matter how many weddings or styled sessions I shoot, I still light up every time I see the vision a couple or planner brings to life, putting their own touch on each aspect. I spent my plane ride home scrolling through the magic we captured, and reveling at the incredible experience I was lucky enough to be a part of!
