The Proposal

I had the pleasure of meeting Molly and Ryan last summer when I captured Ryan’s sunrise proposal at North Avenue Beach. It was a show stopper to say the least and a day I will never forget (you can check out a recap of that session here!).  After such a fun morning together, I was so honored when they reached out and asked me to shoot their Chicago engagement session and wedding this year!

From the moment he reached out to me last summer, I could tell Ryan has the biggest heart.  No detail was too small and I could hear the excitement in his voice on the phone.  And Molly, oh my goodness, that girl has a smile that simply lights up the whole room.  I had to stop our session halfway through and tell her that.

The Engagement Session

I headed into Chicago and met Ryan, Molly, and their 2 adorable caique birds – Marcel and Wazu at their charming Lincoln Park apartment.  I was greeted with screeches of delight and the most beautiful charcuterie board I’ve ever laid my eyes on. After a bit of nibbling and chatting, yes including Marcel, we dove in. I have to say, Marcel (who is quite the Instagram star), almost stole the show with his sassy and outgoing personality – but not quite because Molly and Ryan are so darn adorable.

We then piled in my car to head to Loyola University Chicago, the place where it all began! Molly and Ryan met here Freshman year when they lived right next door to each other in the dorms. It was fun to be back on their campus, getting to see their favorite spots and hear stories of all of the memories they have there.

Molly and Ryan are effortless together. They move so well and compliment each other in every way. They both have bubbly personalities, and the kindest hearts. They are both such good people, my kind of people. I have been so lucky to have them behind my lens twice now for their Chicago proposal and engagement, and I can’t wait to be a part of their wedding day in October at the Royal Fox Country Club!
