The Meet Cute

I’m talking about Sharris and me, not Eddie and Sharris 😂 Sharris and I connected for a gorgeous boho // indie bridal tea party styled shoot in May.  The girl is witty, funny, and has just the right amount of sass. Besides the incredible shoot she put together, I instantly felt a connection with her and just adored getting to work with her. The wonderful world of social media kept us in touch, and when she hinted at a retro inspired styled shoot, I couldn’t say yes fast enough. A few weeks before our shoot, another pretty cool thing happened….

The Proposal

This dynamic duo of 6.5 years loved the idea of a Labor Day weekend wedding and even had it on their 2019 calendars as “let’s get married”. So, Labor Day of 2018, Eddie headed home from work a bit early on Friday, bought steaks and a champagne style beer and planned to surprise his hunny. Knowing Sharris isn’t a carriage ride and crowd type of gal, he wanted an intimate moment between the two of them. Of course, Sharris headed to the freezer first thing when she got home where the beer was chilling, but Eddie had the ring ready to go.  He popped the question “in their semi clean kitchen in front of the oven“. The two had the whole 3 day weekend to celebrate together ✨

The Session

At the retro styled shoot , Sharris told me there’s no one else she’d rather have capture this special moment and my eyes absolutely lit up.  While I’ve only know her for a few months, there is no gal more deserving of a Prince Charming than this one, and I was so giddy that this insane planner finally gets to plan her own wedding! Sharris loved the idea of a Garfield Park Conservatory session and, you all know, I agree (cough cough it’s my favorite place in the world to shoot!). There’s just something so romantic about being surrounded by so much beauty while capturing a couple so madly in love.  Eddie is the perfect fit for my sweet friend.  He is patient and kind and keeps that girl laughing. Eddie loves Sharris’ spirit, he told me if she were a spice, he would sprinkle her on everything. I loved getting to capture the two of them in all of their excitement.

I can’t wait to see what this creative planner will devise for her and Eddie’s big day!
